Christtela Charles is a dedicated founding member of Mayarde’s Helping Hands Inc., having helped build the organization from its early start-up stages as a Founding Board Member and later serving for approximately 10 years as Director of Marketing, Communications and Public Relations. Her commitment to the organization has remained consistent while balancing a demanding healthcare career and raising her three children.

A proud mother of two sons and one daughter, Christtela considers family, service, compassion, and caring for others to be central to who she is. These same values have guided her longstanding commitment to Mayarde’s Helping Hands and its mission to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals, families, and the community.

With more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare field, Christtela brings a strong background in leadership, patient service, communication, teamwork, and relationship building. She currently serves as a Team Lead within her healthcare organization, where she supports her team, helps ensure daily operations run smoothly, assists patients, and contributes to delivering quality service and care. Her professional experience has strengthened her ability to communicate effectively, lead by example, support others, and work collaboratively in fast-paced environments.

During her decade of service as Director of Marketing, Communications, and Public Relations for Mayarde’s Helping Hands, Christtela played an important role in helping establish the organization’s presence, communicate its mission, support community engagement, and contribute to the development of the organization from its early foundation.

As Mayarde’s Helping Hands continues to grow, Christtela is transitioning her leadership service to the Board of Directors, Volunteer Management, where she will help strengthen the organization’s volunteer infrastructure and support the recruitment, engagement, coordination, and retention of individuals who want to serve the community through Mayarde’s Helping Hands.

Outside of her professional and nonprofit commitments, Christtela enjoys traveling, experiencing new places, learning, and creating meaningful memories with her family. She believes there is always an opportunity to learn, grow, serve, and positively impact the lives of others.

She is a caring, hardworking, family-oriented leader whose decade-plus commitment to Mayarde’s Helping Hands reflects her belief that meaningful community impact begins with people who are willing to serve, grow together, and make a difference.
